i think england was a negative empire and that you are not all that important; i think england did conquer defenseless country's for thesake of resources which has an island will never have; however i do believe that the imigration floding is a consequence of that; i do belive that even though your ancestors did that that you should not be absolved from the punishment that it gets; but i do not think britain caused that much evil in the world; i do think britain gave wonderful inventions.

This guy grasping at straws defending England's role and benefit in the world.
But I have an answer to the author of why the US is slammed in the English press. Keep in mind the English press is just as gov't controlled as in America.
It's done to help cover up the fact that the US is in fact England's fall guy.
